BMW, Adding Wireless Technologies

The line of seven series passenger cars from the BMW group of vehicles would be having new features added in. And most recently, two organizations and companies has claimed that they have been chosen by the auto manufacturer to be the lucky ones who would be providing such wireless technologies in their vehicles. These two organizations and companies are the Wavecom SA as well as the Peiker Acustic.

What they would be working on would be an integrated hands free telephone capability which would be mounted and installed in the mentioned seven series line of BMW passenger cars. This would become a reality with the use of a dashboard from the Peiker Acoustic GmbH and Company dashboard. In this dashboard, you would find Wavecom Sa's share which is the wireless technology part.

According to Frank Souguir, the group vice president of a Wavecom region, "We are extremely pleased to announce this important design win that allows us to work with both Peiker and the BMW Group in providing value-added wireless features for a next generation line of passenger cars. This new relationship represents one more step in establishing wireless connectivity as a standard in the automotive industry particularly among German car manufacturers, like BMW, who are well known for excellence in engineering."

As on the end of Peiker, Reinhard Kromer van Baerle, who is the executive vice president of Peiker's Telematics department, states to the public, "We believe that wireless telemetry and embedded telephones will soon be standard features in all vehicles and we are pleased to be working with Wavecom, a recognized industry leader in the wireless industry, to help us in supplying leading automotive engineering companies, like the BMW Group, with these future-oriented features."

With the new wireless technology that would be installed in BMW vehicles, a passenger or driver would be able to make phone calls that need not use their hands however are assured to be high quality and very private. This technology also allows the owner of the vehicle to program in up to a hundred numbers which could be used for speed dialing.
